Being a Miami girl, I don’t really have a great reference for winter. My best resource is Pinterest…until now. Being up here in Connecticut for the Drawn Together Project, I’ve seen winter at it’s best. Bright red barns, snow covered hills – it’s really beautiful…albeit intensely cold.
Today’s Style Watch project is completely inspired by rustic winters. The new Birch background stamp is a great, unique addition to my collection and when paired with the Clear & Simple Stamps Imprints 4 Impression Plate, the result is a beautiful, realistic woodgrain effect.
I created the tag for this gift box and added a paper-crafted pine sprig that I’m kinda, sorta proud of…here’s how I made it:
{1} Die cut 6 of the large leaf shape from dark green cardstock
{2} Score each leaf down the middle and cut the edges of each side to create fringe
{3} Fold each leaf and add a line of glue to the fold.
{4} Adhere the folded centers of all six leaves to create a dimensional pine sprig (not shown).
To create the look of snow on the pine sprig, I smeared a bit of glue on top, then sprinkled it with white embossing powder.

{two} Every moth she has a free downloadable calendar! I am particularly in love with this month’s design. Love how the weekends are in a different color – genius layout.
{three} Of all the whiteboard calendars, her’s is my favorite! Love the way she created the trim.
{four} A chalkboard wall calendar?!? Love it! And, this is totally DIY-able. I’ll be making something like this for the craftroom – for sure!
{five} Saved the best for last. This ink bleed calendar is just insanely unique, innovative, genius…it’s everything.
