In high school I sang in the local choir. We had a trick for what to do when you forgot the lyrics to a particular song: Stop singing and slowly mouth “watermelon, watermelon…” until you could join back in. To be honest – it wasn’t the best strategy – but we were high schoolers. We were generally well-versed in the art of bad decision making.

Now, “watermelon, watermelon” has a totally different meaning. I’m having a watermelon moment these days. First, I made these – and now we’re making mini cards. Both are incredibly easy to do.

  1. Great work! This is the kind of info that are supposed to be shared
around the net. Shame on Google for now not
positioning this put up upper! Come on over and talk over with my website .

    Thank you =)

  2. Amber, you always have the most fun and creative projects and these sweet little cards are no exception! Love them!

  3. Love this Amber! I’ll be making them for the summer senior’s dinner at my church! When you cut the green border, do you cut first the inner 5″ and then the 5.5″? Thanks!

  4. Can’t wait to try these – I actually have a stamp that says “a melon thanks” – cant wait to make these – thanks for yet another Sun. of inspiration!!!

  5. Cute!!! And for the record, our former worship pastor told us the same thing in adult church choir. Forget the words? Just sing “watermelon”. Of course when I think “watermelon” I think of a silly song we sang in choir in junior high (talk about years of poor decision making) about planting a watermelon vine upon my grave. Call me. I will sing it for you. 😉

  6. Such a cute idea! I’m making these for fun summertime cards. So funny, I was taught to say “watermelon, watermelon”, too, when I was an extra in a play pretending to have a convo in the background.

  7. Hey There!

We are having a Linky Party here http://ss1.us/a/OI0JG9RY and are looking for clever crafty projects. I found your watermelon cards on craftgawker and think they are super cool! We are choosing 3 of our favorite projects, and those chosen will get $5 in Blitsy credits. Hopefully we see you at our party! 🙂

  11. It seems to me that for a Sunday morning, it is ideal to include some pleasant, relaxed playlist, take your time to cook breakfast and have a good weekend morning. Speaking of music, lately I find a lot of cool songs that make me feel positive emotions and good mood, and you can download them using Fakaza, which will be fast and free, without any subscriptions. I love making playlists so this is a great option for me.
